Joyeux Noel

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you had a wonderful day and that Father Christmas made all your wishes come true! I decided to spend the festive season in Istanbul as it's one of my favourite places filled with interesting architecture, extremely tasty food and above all some truly amazing shops with treasures hidden away.

One of my favourite places to venture to is Bebek, meaning baby, which is on the European side and filled with amazing cafes, shops and the scenery of the Bosphorus to walk along.

Top of my list day or night would be "Lucca" a newly opened haven where you can sip your Cappucino in the morning and watch the milling of the elite of Istanbul or venture at night for a sneaky Bellini and watch beautiful people, with their latest designer finds draped on their elegant arms or lean bodies! www.luccastyle.com

Meanwhile across the road is a quieter option called "Happily Ever After" which is all white with mismatching pink and cream cutlery. The recommendation is to have the carrot cake which is truly the biggest and yummiest thing I have ever had. Get there early to snag a booth by the window, complete with the view of the Bosphorus!

Another fantastic find in this area is "Midnight Express" not the horrific film but the most carefully selected boutique I have visited, with sequins, silk and leather galore! My favourite piece was an eccentric necklace of Karl Lagerfields head, pictured above. Currently selected items have 30% off and lumber-jack shirts customized with studs and velvet have 50% off. Truly THE place to find your one of a kind New Years outfit. www.midnightexpress.com.tr

Anyway my friends I'm off to the Grand Bazaar with more places to find!
